Mindfulness, Susann and the BBC
The BBC is doing a program on sleep. For part of this they have planned to do an item
on stress and sleep. The BBC is aiming to make the link between stress, cortisol
and noradrenalin levels and sleep. Kate Silverton will be the presenter
and Dr Angela Clow from Westminster University the interviewed expert.
They want to show that certain relaxation techniques can combat stress
(and also help people to sleep). The BBC was thinking about the Progressive Muscle
Relaxation (PMR) as the probable technique to show as it has been shown both
to reduce cortisol levels and to help sleep. For this reason the BBC has asked Susann if
she would consider helping. Susann convinced the producer to go for mindfulness instead of PMR.
Therefore the BBC hired Susann to give a mindfulness one2one double session to the
presenter teaching mindfulness meditation in preparation of the program.

'7 drug free ways to beat depression'...
... and Mindfulness Meditation is one of the seven

recently to Anna Magee, a well-known journalist in the genre. Antidepressants can be
a life-saver but there are alternative solutions that work for mild to moderate depression.
The full article can be read in the magazine Women & Home
under the column 'Alternative Health' of the November issue.
