quotation marks

When I did the meditation course of London Meditation I was a complete beginner. My only experience had been a few sessions of active meditation in the Monday drop-in. After the course I definitively have a deeper and new understanding of meditation. Most importantly – I learned a lot of small techniques which are very helpful to learn meditation. I now practise these techniques in my everyday life. The course was very intense and inspiring. It was tailored to my individual needs and all specific questions I had were taken into account. Susann is a great teacher. I do warmly recommend the Meditation course.

An ’all-day’ retreat including brunch

The Penthouse, 89 – 95 Parkway, Camden Town, NW1 7PP

Your meditation facilitator Susann Herrmann
(CPsychol./OccupPsychol., MA) is trained by various teachers such as

  • Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. and Saki Santorelli, Ph.D.

Suitable for new and experienced meditators.

Mindfulness is a basic human quality, a way of learning to pay wise attention to whatever is happening in your life that allows you a greater sense of connection to your life inwardly and outwardly.

Mindfulness is also a practice, a systematic method aimed at cultivating clarity, insight and understanding. In the context of your health, mindfulness is a way for you to experientially learn to take better care of yourself by exploring and understanding the interplay of mind and body and mobilizing your own inner resources for coping and growing.

Content:

A day in our oasis of light, calmness and inspiration.

This day of meditation training provides time and space for focused practice which can deepen mindfulness skills and strengthen your ongoing practice at home.

Mindful awareness allows us to be present with anything that arises within our experience with the quality of acceptance, spaciousness and calmness. It is the foundation for living with wisdom, compassion and freedom.

In this day of silence, meditation and contemplation, we will explore this innate quality of awareness. And specifically we investigate how to cultivate mindfulness of breath, body, feelings and thoughts during guided sitting & walking periods, and how to apply this to all waking moments such as eating Albert’s delicious home-prepared food. We will also inquire into what interferes with establishing this mindful presence.

Not having experienced it, some people may feel a little apprehensive about spending a longer time in silence, practising meditation. However, almost everyone reports feeling deeply refreshed and restored by this experience and also that the practice gets embodied in a way that they have not experienced by having only done the shorter practice in the group or at home.

As the Mindfulness Urban Retreat Day is held every month, you are most welcome to attend again. You can use this as a refresher for your mindfulness practice or as a restorative day of silence in your life.

Enjoy the tranquillity of our urban retreat in Camden Town.
